This film explains the first past the post system of voting with a day at the races. Franck Magennis, a student at the London School of Economics, looks at the advantages and disadvantages of this method of voting. He also explores other more representational ways of choosing our government.
Unity In The Community
Easton is an inner city area of Bristol where prostitution, drugs and signs of urban poverty can be seen on every street corner. Unity In The Community was made by a group of young people based at radio Salaam Shalom with the support of TrueVan. The film showcases the positives of the area and encourages the community to unite and make a positive change.
Guilty Until Proven Innocent
In 2008 Hashi Omar was wrongly arrested with terrorism charges. He was later found innocent but the media had already portrayed him as guilty. In this short film we hear Hashi’s story first hand and are challenged to consider the way we respond to media headlines. A film made by a group based at Radio Salaam Shalom in Bristol with the support of the TrueVan.
